Hair transplantation Process

Hair transplantation Process involves removing of grafts from the hair bearing scalp o or a larger piece of this scalp from the person’s donor area and then cutting this into smaller pieces to use as grafts. These grafts are then relocating to a bald or thinning area of the scalp of the patient. The grafts created in this manner differ in size and shape. Round-shaped punch grafts usually contain about 10-15 hairs and it would be applied as per the requirement.
After the hair transplantation procedure, the hairs are nurtured within two days with blood and serum coming from the environment in a process called dissolution.


Vascularization shall start 2 days after the hair transplantation and the vascularization shall end after 5 days. We can briefly say that hair shall start to set within one week. Hairs are found on the grafts which have naturally relocated. These hairs start to fall after the fifteenth day.

During this period patients may think that the hair loss has started once more and panic. This is not correct in fact, hairs start to fall in the interval 15 days to 3 months after the transplantation.


After this period of loss, hair shall start to grow. As a consequence, results of the hair transplantation start to show their results after the 3rd month.

Then, hairs shall be completely grown in 6 to 8 months. When the second session is planned, a waiting period of at least 8 months is necessary.
